“크리스탈은 아침을 이해하게 해 준다”라는 타이틀은 프랑스 작가 가스통 바슐라르(Gaston Bachelard)의 “물과 꿈, 물질의 상상에 관한 에세이”에서 따온 것이다. 작가는 과거 디아크 문화관을 방문했던 때 건축 양식에서 물결의 동심원 모양을 떠올렸었는데 그 기억을 바탕으로 이번에 물과 색색의 잉크가 채워진 다섯 개의 금속 용기를 출품하게 되었다. 바닥 한 곳은 식물을 심어 전시회 동안 변화하는 모습을 보여주려고 하며 관객들은 거기서 연못 풍경을 상상하고 그 안에 반사되는 태양과 구름을 관찰하고 존재의 덧없음에 대해서도 명상해보길 기대한다. 이렇게 온갖 시적 상상력으로 가득 찬 설치작품은 공중에서 내려다보면 디아크 건물을 반향하고 있다.

​The title “The crystal helps to understand the morning” is a quote taken from the essay of French writer Gaston Bachelard: “Water and Dreams an Essay on the Imagination of Matter”.When the artist visited the The Arc Cultural Center before, she got reminded of the concentric circles of waves in the architectural style. She mirrored the concentric waves caused by a stone hitting a still water surface. Based on this impression the artist modeled the sketch for her site-specific modular sculpture. It consists of a five metal vessels, filled with water, color and pigment. The vessels are embedded in black flower soil, in which plants are supposed to grow over the course of

the one-month installation. With this ephemeral piece, The artist encourage the viewers to promenade through this make-shift pond landscape and watch the sun’s and clouds’ reflection within. This installation, full of poetic imagination, echoes the The Ark building when viewed from the air.
