쾰른에서 활동하고 있는 다비드 할복은 이번 작품명 〈ushroo e ory〉 에서 숲에서 경험했던 버섯 채집의 기억을 소환한다. 당시 발견한 어떤 버섯도 실제 채취하지는 않았고 다만 사진으로 찍어왔을 뿐이다. 야생 버섯에 대한 작가의 기억은 전시장 실내와 야외에 설치한 나무판 위에 그린 기하학적 드로잉 위에서 3차원의 가상영상으로 구현되게 한다. 버섯 그림의 3D 모델을 구현해내는 포토그래메트리 기술을 이용해 스마트폰용 증강현실(AR) 앱을 통한 공간 경험으로 변환시킨다.
관객들은 자신들의 폰으로 이 신기술을 경험하면서 작가의 자연에 대한 주제 의식에 동시에 공감하게 될 것이다. 야생 버섯으로 상징되는 자연은 우리 곁으로부터 점점 더 멀리 밀려나고 있음을 깨닫게 한다.

David Hahlbrock, who works in Cologne, summons memories of mushroom collection he experienced in the forest in this work titled “ushroo e ory”. At the time, the artist did not actually collect any of the mushrooms he found, but only took photos and brought with memories. The artist's memories of wild mushrooms are transformed into a spatial experience through an augmented reality (AR) app for smartphones, using photogrammetry technology that creates 3D models from line drawings and photos, such as geometric patterns drawn on wooden boards in the exhibition hall.

This nudge viewers to empathize with the artist's theme of nature by experiencing this new technology on their phones. It reminds us that nature, symbolized by wild mushrooms, is getting further distanced from us.
