조각과 미디어아트를 전공한 작가는 오브제 설치와 영상 미디어 등 여러 매체를 다룬다. 근래에 와서는 도조 작업에 집중하고 있는데 스튜디오에서 제작하고 외부 가마를 이용해야 하는 환경 속에서 추상적 모티프에 세련된 색채와 응축되고 견고한 형태미가 느껴지는 상징적인 작품을 주로 한다. 이번 출품작 중에는 고미다락이 있는 유럽식 지붕 처마 집을 모형같이 형상화하고 밑면에는 바퀴를 부착해 만든 것이 있다. 정주해야 하는 주택의 개념에 반하는 바퀴를 가지게 함으로써 작품에 유희적 성격과 이동성을 부여한 것은 여러 가지 상징적 의미로 해석될 수 있겠다. 이민 노동자들에게는 이주의 경험을 상기시켜주기도 하고 자신의 미래 삶을 찾아 떠도는 여행에 관한 상상력을 자극하기도 한다.

The artist, who Sculpture and Media Art, has been worked on various media such as object installation and video media. Recently, the artist has focused on ceramic work, which he produces in his studio and fires using an external kiln. The artist mainly creates symbolic works that combine abstract motifs with sophisticated colors and a condensed, solid form. Among the exhibited works, some are model-like motif of a European-style roof eaves house with an attic and wheels attached to the bottom. The fact that the work is given a playful character and mobility by having wheels that go against the concept of a house that must be settled in opens up various symbolic meanings of interpretation.
