작가는 실험적인 현대 동양화를 추구하던 중 독창적인 표현 기법을 창안하게 되었다. 수묵으로 그린 그림 위에 반투명하게 비치게 하는 발(簾)과 창호지, 창문, 물결 등의 표현을 더하여 대상을 “숨김” 속에서 “드러남”으로 존재하게 하는 방법을 채택했다. “숨음과 드러남”의 양가적 표현은 그 후로 더욱 확대 적용하여 지금은 추상적인 대형작업에서 전개하고 있다. 숨김 속에서 드러나게 된 대상은 직접적인 묘사에서보다 더욱 호기심을 자극한다. 직접적으로 시야에 들어오는 풍경보다 베일을 통해 일상성이 지워진 대상은 더욱 미적으로 수용될 수 있어 그의 방법도 주목받는다.

While pursuing experimental modern oriental painting, the artist created a unique expression technique. The artist adopted a method of making the object exist from “hidden” to “revealed” by adding expressions such as translucent feet, window paper, windows, and waves to the picture drawn in ink. The ambivalent expression of “hidden and revealed” has since been further expanded and is now being developed in large-scale abstract works. The object revealed from hiding stimulates curiosity more than when directly described. His method also attracts attention because objects whose everydayness has been erased through a veil are more aesthetically acceptable than landscapes that are directly visible.​​​
