서양화와 비디오 아트를 전공한 작가는 주로 단채널 영상 작업을 하면서 페인팅과 설치미술도 병행하고 있다. 다매체를 다루는 작가들의 특징이기도 하지만 그가 취급하는 재료들은 통일되어 있지 않고 수많은 종류의 소품들과 오브제들이 혼재한다. 그러나 그 잡동사니 속에서 추출하는 내용만은 작품 속에서 하나의 지향성을 가지고 있음을 깨닫게 된다.

이번에 〈자장가(Rock a bye baby)〉라는 제목으로 설치한 작품은 좀 으스스하게 생긴 가리개 병풍 안쪽에 그래도 제목에 어울리는 아기의 요람이 있을 것 같은데 의외의 육각형 분수대가 놓여 있다. 이 뜻밖의 사물은 기괴한 작동을 일으켜 또 한 번의 반전을 내포하고 있다.

이렇게 작가는 항상 우리가 기대하는 정상성을 위반하는 형태와 질감 색채를 더 선호하는 듯하다. 내러티브나 서사도 없는 플롯을 통해 독특한 빛깔의 에로티시즘을 환기하는데 거기에 작가의 예술적 전략이 감춰져 있다.

Jeon Suhyun is a interdisciplinary artists who deal with multiple media, the materials she handles are not unified and contain numerous types of props and objects mixed together. However, you realize that the content extracted from the miscellany has a single direction in the work.

The work, “Rock a bye baby,” has a rather eerie-looking folding screen that looks like it might be a baby’s cradle, but there is an unexpected hexagonal fountain. This unexpected object causes a strange operation and implies another twist.

In this way, the artist always seems to prefer shapes, textures and colors that violate the normality we expect. A unique color of eroticism is evoked through a plot without narrative and the artist's artistic strategy is hidden there.​
