대형화면의 오른쪽과 왼쪽이 크게 대조되면서도 서로를 반향하고 있다. 기호 형태의 집 모양을 굵고 검은 선으로 빼곡하게 그려 넣어 빈틈없이 채워진 화면은 드러나는 붓질에서 추상표현주의적이고 맞은편 화면은 상대적으로 미니멀하게 보인다. 그러나 이런 형식적인 관찰을 벗어나 작품의 형상이 마치 한국전쟁 전후 대도시들의 산동네에 급속하게 형성돼 증가해가던 무허가 판잣집들을 연상시킨다.

재료적 측면에서도 페인팅 화면에 알루미늄 캔을 두드려 얇게 펴 만든 화면으로 연장해 전체를 이면화(딥티크)처럼 구성했다. 알루미늄 백색 바탕의 요철 자국이 회화 양식을 반복하듯 해 대조되는 두 화면이 형식상으로 서로를 반향하고 있다. 당시 하코방으로도 불렸던 집들이 깡통을 두드려 펴 만든 양철지붕이었던 사실을 떠올리면 전혀 다른 매체의 이질적인 결합이 결코 우연히 시도된 것은 아닌듯하다.

작가가 두들기고 찌르고 붙이는 노동으로 완성한 이 작품에서는 양식상의 독특한 개성을 넘어 그 안에 응축된 작가의 수많은 서사와 감정의 울림이 크게 느껴지는 그림이다. 

The right and left sides of the large screen contrast greatly, yet resonate with each other. The screen, which is filled with a symbol-shaped house shape densely drawn with thick black lines, is abstract expressionistic in its exposed brush strokes, while the screen opposite is relatively in minimalistic style. However, beyond this formal observation, the shape of the work is reminiscent of the unlicensed shacks that rapidly formed and increased in mountainous areas of large cities after the Korean War.

The left screen is done by pounding aluminum cans and spreading them thinly, making the entire screen look like Diptyque. The irregularities of the background of the screen repeat a similar pattern to the adjacent screen, making the two confronting screens have resonance with each other. Considering the fact that the houses, also known as hakobang(box-like small house or room) at the time, had tin roofs made by pounding out tin cans, it seems that the combination of the two screens was not an accidental attempt.

This work, which the artist completed through the act of pounding, stabbing, and pasting, has the appearance of a monotonous minimalist painting in form, but either it is a painting with the resonance of numerous narratives and emotions condensed within it.
