룩 슈뢰더의 〈엑토플라즘(Ectoplasm)〉은 컴퓨터그래픽으로 만든 흑백 네가티브 사진을 가지고 4개의 라이트 박스를 제작해 야외에 설치했다. 사진의 내용은 우리가 편리하게 사용하고 버린 전자제품 쓰레기들이 작품의 주요 모티프이다. 주로 휴대폰이나 노트북 텔레비전 등의 케이스에서 떨어져 나온 플라스틱 조각과 버려진 전자 칩 같은 부속들을 모아 사진을 찍는다. 이 이미지들은 컴퓨터에서 재가공되어 독특한 형태로 재구성되는데 그 모습이 마치 고스트 같은 형상을 취하고 있다.

제목인 엑토플라즘(ectoplasm)은 영매(靈媒)의 몸에서 나온다는 영기(靈氣), 심령파(波)를 뜻하는데 작가는 그것들이 은폐된 모양을 하고 있다가 맨홀이나 쓰레기통과 같은 공공장소의 구멍에서 나온다고 설정한다. 여하튼 작가는 전자제품의 쓰레기들에 대해 일종의 공포와 혐오를 느끼게 하는 한편 자연에 관한 경각심을 일깨워주고 있다. 

Luuk Schröder's Ectoplasm was created by creating four light boxes containing black-and-white negative photos created using computer graphics and installing them outdoors. The content of the photo is the electronic waste that we conveniently use and throw away, which is the main motif of the work. The artist photograph assortments of plastic pieces and discarded electronic chips and components that have detached from electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops and televisions. These images are reprocessed on a computer and reconstructed into a unique form, which takes on a ghost-like appearance.

The title, ectoplasm, refers to the spiritual energy or psychic waves that come from the body as a medium, and the artist set them in a concealed form and then release from holes in public places such as manholes or trash cans. The artist arouse caution towards electronic waste while calling for the care for ecology.​​
