싱글 채널 비디오 〈평온의 섬〉(2020)은 작가 특유의 구성 방식이지만, 특정하지 않은 화자 한 명이 외국어로 독백하듯 말하고 편집된 단편적인 영상들을 배경으로 한글 자막을 제공하면서 이야기 체제를 이끌어 간다. 내레이션(narration) 내용은 마치 여행자가 쓰는 자전적 수필 혹은 일기처럼 일관된 서사구조를 취하지 않고 영상도 자유롭게 산문처럼 전개되지마는 그 속에서 현대인들이 겪는 일상의 소회나 특유의 감수성을 진하게 느낄 수 있다.
작가는 혼돈과 불안의 시대에 미술의 의미와 역할을 고민하며 만든 작업으로서 위로 혹은 구원을 말하려는 듯하다. 주관적인 작업이라 공감하기 어려운 텍스트도 있겠지만 무기력하고, 의미를 잃어버린 삶을 살아가는 주인공의 이야기가 현대인들의 정서에 어필한다. 이야기는 중간중간 과거와 현재가 뒤바뀌는 자유로운 구조를 취한다.

The single-channel video 〈Island of Peace〉 (2020) has unique sequence, that it leads the story system by having an unspecified speaker narrate as if in a monologue in a foreign language and providing Korean subtitles against the background of edited fragmentary videos. The narration does not have a consistent like an autobiographical essay or diary written by a traveler, and the video unfolds freely like prose, but through it, viewers can sympathize reflections of daily life and the unique sensitivity as if it's portraits of our time and lives.
The artist is said to have attempted to provide comfort or salvation by creating this work while pondering the meaning and role of art in an era of chaos and anxiety. Because it is a subjective work, there may be texts that are difficult to sympathize with, but the story of the main character who lives a helpless, meaningless life call for a sympathy. The sequence of the work is with the past and present are reversed from time to time.
